County Team – Best of luck to Aidan Flynn and the Leitrim county team playing Limerick on Saturday in Kilmallock at 3pm. Safe travels to all the supporters travelling from the village.

Lotto – The Leitrim Gaels Community Development Lotto Draw was held in Donnellan’s 12th February. The numbers drawn were 7,13,17,26. There was no jackpot winner. The €20 winners were Desmond Rooney, Miriam Donnelon, Denis McBride and Mary Finnegan. The next draw will be held in the Leitrim Inn on 26th February. The Jackpot is €7,700.

Leitrim Supporters Draw – The Leitrim GAA supporter’s tickets are now available from any club officer. If at all possible can you buy your ticket from a Leitrim Gaels club member as each club has their own allocation of tickets which they must sell, rather than outside the Club. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards the cost of preparing the Leitrim Senior team throughout the year. As usual, there is wide range of decent prizes for all members entered in the draw. Under Age Boys Matches – Folks our new underage amalgamation with Kiltubrid GAA is now up and running with the u13 boys in action on Saturday and Sunday last weekend putting in a good display in both games against Allen Gaels and Annaduff. The u17 lads were also in action on Sunday where they defeated Mohill in their opening league campaign. We would like to thanks the players and mentors for all the work they have done the last few weeks in getting ready for the season. ‘Ireland Lights Up – Ballinamore Lights Up – There was a great crowd at the pitch last Thursday evening for operation transformation and we hope everyone can brave the cold and make it again this Thursday! Redevelopment of Ballinamore Hall – The redevelopment of Ballinamore Hall is starting soon and everyone is invited to the hall on Wednesday the 27th of February at 8.30pm

Cloone Lights Up – Operation Transformation: Ireland Lights Up will continue for another 2 Thursday’s the 14th and 21st of February from 7-9pm. Well done to all who have taken part, it has proved to be a very successful initiative again this year. New people are always welcome.

County Team – There was a theatrical atmosphere in Aavantcard Pairc Seán on Sunday last with standing ovations at half-time and a prolonged one at the end of their performance against Antrim by this young Leitrim team. It would be unfair to single out any player but in severe weather conditions Domhnaill Flynn gauged the wind to perfection in the dying moments to earn Leitrim a one- point victory. Next outing Kilmallock on Saturday week.

County Ladies – Having weathered a few storms over the last few months, the Leitrim got their season off to a good start with a win over Derry in Ballinamore on Sunday last

Tom Guckian RIP – Mohill Club extend deepest sympathy to the family of Tom Guckian Carrick-on-Shannon who died last week. Tom was a stalwart with St Mary’s GAA and was always a helpful and friendly steward in Pairc Seán on the big days. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh sé

Well Done Leitrim – The Leitrim team secured the third win in a row when they defeated Antrim on Sunday. Well done to all involved, especially Gaels Lads, Darragh, Emyln and Cillian.

Cathal Joins Melvin Gaels Walk – Last Thursday night there was great excitement when local leader from this year’s Operation Transformation, Cathal Gallagher, Askill, came along and took part in the walk. He thanked everyone for the support and encouragement he is getting from the community in the North Leitrim area.

Melvin Gaels Healthy Club Committee is joining up with Operation Transformation, the GAA and the Community, for Ireland Lights Up 2019. The walk continues every Thursday night until February 21. The track will be lit up from 7pm to 8pm and everyone of all ages is asked to come along and join in this free weekly event.
