Division 4 – The Kiltubrid Div 4 team had a successful start to the season on Saturday with a win away against Mohill. Next match takes place next Saturday in Aughavas at 4:30pm.

Leitrim – Huge congratulations to the Leitrim Senior team and management on achieving promotion to Division 3 for 2020, after beating London 1-09 to 0-07. Keep up the good work.

Eslin CFR – To raise much needed funds for Eslin Community First Responders, to purchase a defibrillator, Tesco in Carrick-on- Shannon have now allocated us a blue token slot at the checkouts. This will be running for the next 8 weeks, so when your shopping in Tesco your support will be greatly appreciated.

Division 4 – We played Cloone in Cloone on Friday night last under lights in the first division 4 league game. Unfortunately, we lost 4-11 to 1-07, but it was a good workout for the lads, and good to have a second team up and running. Hopefully we can get the few lads we were missing, and everyone that is available out for our next game which is on Saturday at 4.30pm in Eslin, where we take on Leitrim Gaels. The club would also like to welcome Alan Duffy who has transferred to us from St. Mary’s, we hope he enjoys his time with us.

Sympathy – The club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jimmy Stenson, Dublin Rd, Carrick-on-Shannon, and formerly Eslinbridge, who died recently. May his soul Rest In Peace.

Date for your Diary  –  The Yellow River Drama Players are rehearsing for their big production A Wake in the West –  they will take to the stage in our Community Centre on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of March – this is a hilarious three act comedy so don’t miss it.

County Team – Well done to the County panel and Management on yet another victory in the NFL. Great to see large crowds travelling to support. Our two men Domhnaill and Shane played their parts to perfection.

Recent Bereavements – We extend deepest sympathy to the family of Oliver Doonan who died last week. Oliver was a stalwart of the Fenagh Club and will be sorely missed by all in Fenagh but especially by his wife Eileen and son Martin. Commiserations also to Manorhamilton GAA on the untimely death a great lady, Fran Faulkner. Ar dheis Dé fo raibh said.

Under 17 – The under 17s suffered a defeat at the hands of an exceptionally strong St Mary’s outfit on Friday last under lights in Cloone. We wish a speedy recovery to Conor Keegan who sustained a serious injury the previous week and Domhnaill Duignan also out with injury. The lads gave it their all and never gave up. The complete panel was: Shane Moran, James Murphy, Gearóid Reynolds, Liam Ellis, Brian Donohue, Fin Cassells, Thomas McNabola, Sean Bohan, Conor Quinn, Aongus McCrann, Keoghan Curran, Caleb Wuabah, Conor Macklin, Conor Mulligan, Niall McNabola, Anthony Luby.

Under 13 – Both Under 13 teams played on Sunday last. Div 1 played Allen Gaels in a fast highly skilled game. The teams were evenly matched in the first half but Drumshanbo had a run of goals in the second half and our gutsy lads did their best to catch up. The panel was, Darren Duignan, Cillian Walpole 1-0, Adam Kiernan, Niall Mulligan, Blaine McCrann, Darren Brennan, Thomas Casey, Tomás Mayock, Keith McCaffrey 1-1, Evan Kilrane, Rian Walpole, Frankie McManus, Daniel Beirne 1-0, Dean Reynolds 1-0. Later in the day the  Division 2 team took on St Brigid’s but they were a bit strong for our young boys. The panel there was: Caoimhín McHugh, Frankie McManus, David Murphy, Darren Brennan, Evan Kilrane, Ryan Gordon, Tomás Mayock 1-2, Thomas Casey, Alan Wynne, Rian Walpole, Coady Tighe 0-2, James Dimmock, Dean Reynolds 2-0, Shane Mayock, John Macklin.

Div 4 – Next Saturday the Div 4 will start when Mohill play Kiltubrid in Pairc Phillib at 4.30. Watch fixtures for underage games.

Allianz League – Well done to Leitrim on another fantastic win in the league over Limerick at the weekend, leaving them with an unbeaten record of 4 out of 4 games, and sitting at the top of the league table. Huge congrats to all the players and the management team, and of course to all the supporters who travelled, it makes the difference. Now as they say it’s the ”drive for 5” as they face London next Sunday in Carrick. Rest the voices this week!!
Keeldra Gaels – Keeldra Gaels held their annual fundraising table quiz in Creegan’s bar on Friday night last. The night was again a huge success and great credit goes to the committee and players for all their hard work in arranging the event. Well done also to the Quiz Master on the night Emer Cunningham, who kept the rounds running seamlessly The club left it to the creative talents of their underage players to design a crest for Keeldra Gaels. The designs were displayed on the night, and a worthy winning crest was chosen which was designed by Sarah O’Leary Gortlettragh N.S. Well done Sarah and to all who entered. It is great to see the young players having such input into the future of the club.

Club Walk – Melvin Gaels Healthy Club Committee would like to thank everybody who took part in the Thursday night walks over the past four weeks. The lights will continue to be on until 9pm on the training pitch for anyone who wants to continue with walks.

Swan Bar Division 3 – Our league campaign begins this Saturday, March 3rd, away to Allen Gaels. We wish the lads the very best in their endeavours for 2019. All support is greatly appreciated.
Barna Recycling U13 League – Our u13s came out second best to a strong Aughavas outfit on Sunday last in Aughavas. Keep the heads up lads and the results will come.

Leitrim – Well done to Leitrim Seniors on their massive win against Limerick on Saturday last in Kilmallock. Promotion to div. 3 will be all but assured with a win against London this coming weekend. Best of luck lads!
Sympathy – Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher GAA would like to extend its sincere sympathy to the Keaney family, Glenfarne village, on the recent passing of Kitty. She will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace.

Barna Recycling U-13 League – Well done to the u-13 lads who registered their first win of the year beating mohill on a scoreline of Allen Gaels 4-6 mohill 3-1. Well done to the team and management of Enda Gilrane and Richard O’Loughlin.

25 Card Drive – The card game continues in Aras Padraig every Sunday night at 8:30pm. All welcome.

Leitrim – Well done to Diarmaid, Kevin & Alan and all the Leitrim team and management who beat Limerick by 1 point in the 4th round of the league again leaving it late. Hopefully, they can keep the winning feeling and promotion dream alive in another huge game this Sunday against London in Pairc Sean at 1pm.

Dinner Dance – Allen Gaels GAA will be hosting a dinner dance to celebrate the success we had in 2018. It will be held in the Lough Allen Hotel, Drumshanbo on the 17th of March. The senior team will be receiving their Dunnes Bar division 2 league medals on the night. There will also be a special presentation to the St. Francis Intermediate championship winners. Special guest & music by Late Night Radio on the night and tickets will be available this week for €30.

LOTTO – There was no Jackpot winner in the Lotto on Sunday 24th February: the numbers drawn were 1-0-7-6-2-4-5-3.  €30 winners on the night were Tess O’Connell, Niall Maguire, Darragh McBrien, Bernie & Gerry, Peter McBrien.  The House prize sponsored by the Dugout was won by Darren McHugh. ST JOSEPH’S BOYS – Our U13’s had a good win over Glenfarne on Saturday morning in Aughavas, all the lads played well and we took some lovely scores.  Our next game is against Leitrim Gaels and this is an away game and we’ll send out a text nearer the weekend.  Our U17’s had no game last weekend check with management for next fixture.

OTHER NEWS – It’s great to see our past Club President Terry Shortt out and about again after his visit to the Galway Clinic.  It’s important to keep your Aughavas hat on now Terry.

Underage 13/17- The under 17Continued their league campaign on Sunday with fought win over Dromahair winning by one point 3-08 to 1-13. The under 13s were in action on Sunday as well. They played a very good Drumkeeran team and came out on the wrong side of the result. The Club would like to Thank ‘The Computer Store’ Carrick-on-Shannon for the sponsorship of a set of Jerseys for our U-13’s

Underage Girls – Training commences for under 10 and 12 girls this Friday March 1st, at 6pm in the hall at the clubhouse. Bring runners.

Leitrim Supporters Draw – The Leitrim GAA supporter’s tickets are now available from any club officer. If at all possible can you buy your ticket from a Leitrim Gaels club member as each club has their own allocation of tickets which they must sell, rather than outside the Club. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards the cost of preparing the Leitrim Senior team throughout the year. As usual, there is wide range of decent prizes for all members entered in the draw. You also get a car Sticker showing your support for Leitrim. Tickets are priced at €50. They can also be purchased in Mc Cormack’s Filling station.

County Team – Well done to Aidan Flynn and the Leitrim county team on another win in Division 4 beating Limerick on Saturday last. They London in Avantcard Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada on Sunday at 1pm.
