Tony McGowan Run – The Tony Mc Gowan Run Committee wish to sincerely thank all those involved in the planning and delivery of a memorable day in Drumshanbo on the 17th of February last. This includes sponsors ( both local and national), those who took part in registration, those who provided stewarding, those who donated the variety and volume of food and those who either walked, jogged or ran the various routes. Participants travelled in great numbers representing a wide variety of running clubs from neighbouring counties and beyond. They all spoke highly about the stunning Blueway, the efficient and encouraging stewards and the supply of refreshments on their return to The Mayflower. The weather (heaven sent we feel!), live commentary and music along the route really added to the friendly atmosphere. The support services – race leaders on bikes, gardaí, ambulance service, Order of Malta and sub aqua unit – provided reassuring back-up services on the day. The Mayflower Committee allowed the organisers to set-up and deliver the event in a professional and efficient manner. Local media outlets and photographers provided excellent publicity and coverage of the event. Finally, the committee wish to thank the Mc Gowan Family, Carrick Road who actively supported the build up to the event and carried out various roles on the day. Planning and registration have already begun for 2020 so be warned!

Tá baint ag an ainm Droim Liasa (Drumlease) le botháin a d’fhág sé san áit dá lucht leanúna.
