U13’s – Hard luck to St. Joseph’s U13’s who were defeated by St. Brigids in the Division 2 league final played in Cloone last Friday evening. Despite the weather conditions, both teams displayed some great skills. However, despite the best efforts of our lads, our opponents ran out worthy winners on a final score of St. Joseph’s 2-06 St. Brigids 1-14. Well done to players and mentors who have made great progress this year.

U15’s – St Josephs U15s hosted Gortletteragh in Carrigallen on Thursday evening in the second round of the league. Played in a downpour, both teams displayed good handling and kicking skills in an entertaining game for the spectators present. Gortletteragh established an early 4 point lead before St Josephs registered their first score with a cracking goal from Aodhan Harte. The St Josephs lads continued to give a wholehearted committed performance for the rest of the game but ultimately a skillful and physically stronger Gortletteragh team were deserving winners on a final scoreline of St Josephs 1-06 Gortletteragh 0-14. Hard luck to St Joseph’s but well done to the eighteen players used on the day for refusing to buckle in the face of strong opposition. If the team can learn to become a bit more clinical in the opposition half they will become tough opponents for most teams in the division. The St Josephs squad on the day was Kian Mimna, Padraig Maguire, James Quinn, Liam Mc Intyre, Cathal Mc Namara, Ben Harte, Pearse Kenny, Harry Wilson, Gary Mitchell, Kalum Mc Loughlin, Fionnan Harte, Darren Shortt, Declan Brooks, Aodhan Harte, Cian Mc Hugh, Kevin Doherty, Tommy Kearney. ..Our u15 play MacDiarmada Gaels on Thursday evening  at 7pm in Ballinamore

ST JOSEPH’S BOYS – Hard luck to our U13’s who lost out in the Div 2 final replay on Friday evening last in Cloone. St Brigids 1-14, St Joseph’s 2-6.  Our lads gave it their all but unfortunately, we went down to our opponents who found it a little bit easier to score.  We were trailing by 6 points to 3 at half time, we came out in the second half with a lot of work to do, an early goal and a point put us in front for a while but St Brigids kept the scoreboard moving with some nice points. As was normal for our lads, they never gave up and scored another goal with 10 minutes to play but we just could not follow it up with more scores to get in front again.  Well done to both teams for two games of enjoyable football and we might meet again later in the year in the championship.  Many thanks to the management team of Dan O’Brien, Charlie McCabe and Michael Lee for their work with this team over the last number of weeks.  Championship action will likely commence in June.  Our panel of plays for the league were Gavin Gallogly, Conor Downes, Eanna McNamara, Bradley Cowdell, Jack McIntyre, Charlie Kearney, Andrew Lee, Matthew McCabe, Cian Nolan, Joey McBrien, Thomas O’Brien, Conor Shortt, Dessie O’Kelly, Charlie Wilson, Conor McLoughlin, Dermot Tierney, Darragh Gormley, Jack McManus, Jamie Stoddart, Naoise Feeney, Mark McDermott, James Kilkenny, Calvin Reynolds, Fiachra McHugh, and Lucas Kotterman.
