U15: Well done to our U15 team and management who beat Mohill on Thursday evening, they now play Manorhamilton on Thursday evening in Páirc Naomh Mhuire.

DIVISION 3:  Hard luck to our Juniors who got beaten by Melvin Gaels in St. Osnatts on Saturday evening, they play Glencar Manor next Saturday in St. Mary’s while our Div 4 team play Ballinamore-SOH away on Sunday morning.

U14 LADIES: Well done to our U14 girls who beat Melvin Gaels last week, their next game is against Glencar Manorhamilton away on Tuesday 21st May at 7pm.

INTERMEDIATE LADIES: Bornacoola/St Mary’s won their second match in ten days as they accounted for Glencar/Manorhamilton’s second string on Sunday morning last in Boggaun. The LGFA League Division 2 encounter finished on a 2-11 to 0-6 scoreline at the sunny North Leitrim venue. On an excellent playing surface, which is a credit to the home club, the girls were quick into their stride and held an early 1-2 to 0-1 advantage. The home side proved worthy opponents but with staunch defending were held to four points as the first half came to a conclusion with our girls holding a 2-7 to 0-4 interval lead. The second half was an end to end affair with respective defences keeping the majority of attacks at bay. At the conclusion, our girls still held sway shading the second half 0-4 to 0-2 to record a fine victory. With 2 wins from 3, they have three weeks to prepare for the last remaining fixture versus Mohill on May 26th.

TABLE QUIZ FUNDRAISERA big thank you to everyone who supported our Féile Table quiz last night. We were joined by a great crowd in Murtagh’s Elevation Bar in aid of our U14 girls and boys teams. Cormac our quizmaster tested our general knowledge and it’s a sure bet we probably all left having learned something new! We had a thoroughly enjoyable and successful night, a huge thanks to all involved in organising and participating. Thanks also to all who couldn’t take part but donated, it really is very much appreciated. Thanks to Murtagh’s for their hospitality and for sponsoring the delicious finger food. KELLOGGS CÚL CAMP: It’s Cúl Camp registration time again. Our dates for the camp in Carrick are July 1st-5th (10am-2pm).  It costs €60 for the week for the 1st child, €55 for 2nd child and €45 for 3rd and subsequent children.

Children must be 6 years old at the time of the camp.

Westlink Coaches U15 League – on Thursday last the lads defeated Drumkeeran by 2.13 to 1.07. This Thursday we play Melvin Gaels in Pairc Sean O’Laodain. Throw in is at 7pm.

Under 15 League – The Under 15 team had another great win on Friday in Bundoran when they defeated Mohill. Final score was Melvin Gaels 9-10 Mohill 1-7. Well done to all.  On Friday next, they travel to Fenagh for the next league game.

The Late Pat Mc Gurran – The Club extends deepest sympathy to all the family, relatives and many friends of the late Pat Mc Gurran, Agharrow, Tullaghan, who passed away last week. Pat was a great Melvin Gaels man and was Honorary President of the Club. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.   

Sympathy – The Club extends deepest sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Muriel Kerr, Kinlough who passed away last week. Muriel was a great supporter of the club and was very much involved in the development of the Community Centre and many more Community organisations in the area. May she rest in peace.

Gaelic4Mothers+Others – Melvin Gaels Gaelic4Mothers + Others is a recreational programme for women who have not played football before or who haven’t played in a long time to hone their football skills in a non – competitive, fun environment. U15 – hard luck to our u15s who lost out to Fenagh last Thursday. Final score Drumkeerin 1-07 (10) to Fenagh 2-13(18). They’ll be out again this Thursday away to Dromahair. Best of luck to all involved, come out to support out lads.

Rest in Peace – Drumkeerin GAA are sad to hear of the passing of Fr. Felim Kelly. Fr. Felim was a former Club Chairman and a former Senior Team Manager. Condolences to his family and friends from Drumkeeran GAA Club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh anam

Ladies Senior – Hard luck to our Ladies who played Annaduff on Sunday. Final score Drumkeerin 1-10(13) to Annaduff 2-12(18). It was level at half time and our girls battled hard until the final whistle. Best of luck in the next one.

Féile 2019 – Dromahair GAA have been chosen to be a host club for this year’s Féile Peile na nÓg competition where we will be hosting a club from Carlow. The tournament will be held throughout Connacht on the weekend of June 28th-30th. U14 teams from all over Ireland and overseas will be competing. We look forward to working with Naomh Padraig Ladies Club who are also hosting a team from Wicklow for the weekend. We are running a Guess The Score competition for the Leitrim vs Roscommon match to raise funds for Féile. Please support.
Swan Bar Division 4 – Our Juniors have a home game on Saturday 11th at 7pm in the Park v Leitrim Gaels Please come out and support the lads.
St Joseph’s Boys – Our U15’s were defeated by MacDiarmada Gaels on Thursday evening last in Ballinamore, our next game is in Aughavas on Thursday 9th at 7pm v Mohill.
Lotto – There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot of €13,300 on Sunday night last.  The numbers drawn on the night were 3-0-4-6-5-7-1-2.  €30 winners were Margaret McKiernan, Chloe & Aaron McIntyre, Colette Flanagan, Lila McCabe and Darren McHugh.  The house prize sponsored by the Dugout was won by Chirsty Sweeney.  The next draw will take place on Saturday 18th with Dan & Noel’s team.  Jackpot is now €13,400.

Connacht Championship – Good luck to Leitrim who take on Roscommon in Hyde Park in the Connacht Championship  Quarter Final on Sunday 12th May at 3:30pm.  Tickets for the match are currently on sale from all usual outlets.

Congratulations – Congrats to our own Paul Murphy who has been installed as Chairman of the County Coiste na nÓg last week. Paul works tirelessly for the underage in Mohill and will do likewise for Leitrim.

Pub Quiz – Aoife O Brien a contestant in “I’m a Celeb” is running a pub quiz in Lynch’s of Kilclare on Friday next at 9.30pm. There will be spot prizes on the night and the greatest of these is an overnight stay for two in the Titanic Hotel in Belfast. Come on down and support Aoife. €10 per table.

Get well wishes – We wish Brian Gordon who has been slightly under the weather recently a speedy recovery to full health.

Cake Sale – The Ladies are running a Cake Sale on Sunday morning at 11 am. This is a chance to get some tasty morsels for the children on the trip to Hyde Park.

Swan Bar Div 4 – These boys had a good win over Ballinamore on Sunday. Scorers were, Colm Beirne 0-9, C Beirne 0-3, J McGuinness 1-1, S Kennedy 1-0, J Mulligan 0-2, J Boyle 0-1, C Conway 0-1,

County Game – We wish the best of luck and a win for the Leitrim boys on Sunday next in Hyde Park against Roscommon. We send special wishes to the Mohill trio, Domhnaill, Shane and Oisín.

Cash for Clobber – In conjunction with Mohill GAA fundraiser, I’m a Celeb, the club is running Cash for Clobber for the next few weeks. Bags of clean, re-wearable clothing, handbags, paired shoes, hats and belts can be left at Maureen Lynch’s Castlegardens before Wed. May 29.

Under 15 – Both Div 1 and Div 2 Under 15 are fielding very young boys and may have to wait another year before success comes. The Div 1 team were beaten by a very strong St Mary’s side but gave it their all to the very end. The scorers were M Murphy 1-9, T McNabola 1-1, C McNamara 0-2, A McGuinness 0-1, J Rowley 0-1. Melvin Gaels got the better of the second string.

Slimathon – Nicola Tully who is volunteering for I’m a Celeb is running a Slimathon in Kilglass Clubhouse on Sat May 11 for €10 a session. Times for an hourly session are 9.45am/10.30am/11.15am/12pm. Please support Nicola.

Quiz Nite – Padraig McLoughlin another volunteer in “I’m a Celeb” is running a pub quiz in Clarke’s front bar on Saturday night at 9.30. Loads of spot prizes on the night. There will be more events next week.

Swan Bar Division 3 League – we had to concede our game last weekend to Carrigallen as we couldn’t field a team. We play Annaduff away this Saturday evening at 7pm so best of luck to all the team.

Westlink Coaches U-15 league – The lads defeated Leitrim Gaels last Thursday evening on a scoreline of Allen Gaels 6-9 Leitrim Gaels 2-8 and they now face Annaduff at home this Thursday evening at 7pm so again best of luck to all the lads and please support.

25 Card Drive – The card game continues in Aras Padraig every Sunday night at 8:30pm. All welcome.

Leitrim – Best of luck to Diarmaid, Kevin, Alan and all the Leitrim senior team and management who begin the championship against Roscommon this Sunday in Hyde Park at 3.30pm.

Mothers & Others – Training has returned to the pitch again on Wednesdays at 8pm Anyone with an interest in learning new skills or those who may have played previously are welcome to join. It’s a great opportunity to get fit, have fun and make new friends! All are welcome.

Valley Rovers – Well done to the Valley Rovers U-16 soccer team who won the Connacht final last weekend. The team are mostly made up of Drumshanbo lads and managed by our own Farrell McKeon. What a huge achievement for the team who were only formed in 2011.

Division 4 – The division 4 team got back to winning ways when they overcame table toppers Kiltubrid on Saturday evening on a scoreline of3-13 to 2-12. The team play Aughavas away on Saturday at 7pm

Under 15 – The under 15 team suffered their first loss in the Under 15 Westlink Coaches Division 2 league against a stronger Allen Gaels team. They play Mohill away tomorrow Thursday.

Leitrim V Roscommon – Best of luck to Aidan Flynn and the Leitrim county team against Roscommon in the Connaught championship on Sunday in Dr Hyde Park at 3:30pm. Safe travels to all supporters travelling from the village.

Garadice Concert May 18th – Garadice, a supergroup of some of Leitrim’s finest musicians, Eleanor Shanley, Dave Sheridan, Padraig McGovern & John McCartin, take to the stage for a special concert in the Community Centre, Gortletteragh on Saturday the 18th of May. Doors at 7 with the band onstage at 8 for what will be an unmissable night of music and song. Tickets cost €20 and can be obtained from any club officer. See our Facebook page for more details.
Weekend Results – The juniors had a one-point win over Leitrim Gaels at the weekend, picking up their second win of the campaign. Well done to the lads and management.

U15 – Our U15s were in action against St Joseph’s last Thursday evening in Carrigallen. The conditions for football were very poor to say the least with a rain-drenched pitch. We took a four-point lead early on but st Joseph’s hit back with a goal and half time the score was St Joseph’s 1-01 Gort 08. The second half was a stop-start affair with very little chance for either team to play to their strengths. The final score was Gortletteragh 14 points to st Joseph’s 1-06. Next up at home is St Bridget’s this Thursday evening.

Weekend Fixtures – No Fixtures down for this weekend as the Juniors have a bye and the county team prepare for the Roscommon game.
