The club would like to thank all the people who came out in great numbers to support the lads over the year, lets hope ye can all do the same next year and get behind the lads again. We look forward to another successful year next year and we hope this bunch of lads stick together and give it another rattle.

Senior Championship – The seniors will contest the championship final with Aughawillan on Sunday October 14. Manorhamilton were obviously not on form on Saturday last in the semi and three games in a row took their toll. Nevertheless, Mohill are coming good at the right time and the pairing in the final should be very competitive. Lots of work still to be done on the field and around the parish to prepare for the greatest day in Leitrim football. We were sorry to see Eslin bow out after a great campaign but we congratulate our near neighbours Annaduff and Fenagh who will contest the Intermediate final

Intermediates – The second string strived in vain to maintain their Intermediate status on Sunday morning but Aughavas were the winners in this relegation battle in Cloone. On a positive note we saw the return of young Jordan Reynolds after a serious arm fracture and he surely made his presence felt with outstanding scores.

Ladies Final – Mohill Ladies gave a fine display of football in the Intermediate final on Sunday last and we congratulate the St Francis team who were worthy winners on the day. It was a very exciting game with two evenly matched teams but our very young team have made amazing progress in nine weeks since the same St Francis team beat us by 30 points. The Ladies Club thank Gary and Shane Canning, Darragh Gordon and Caillin Canning for looking after the team all year. Good days ahead le cúnamh Dé

Under 15 – TheU15s came up against tough opposition in Allen Gaels, who deservedly ran out winners by a margin of 3-12 to 0-9. Mohill missed numerous opportunities in the first half and it was Allen Gaels who drove on in the second half. This was our first defeat of the year at this age grade and over the next two weeks they will hope to put it right. The team and scorers was, L Bohan, D Scott, F Cassells, G Reynolds, B Donohue, D Duignan, T McNabola, C Quinn, C Keegan 0-1, K Curran 0-1, S Bohan 0-2, A McCrann 0-2, J Rowley, C Macklin, M Murphy 0-2. Subs, E Duignan, B David, B Logan, J Foy, A Lubey, C Donohue, A McGuinness, A McCrann.

Fundraising – Fundraising is the bad F word at the moment but it is essential to keep the club running. It is difficult to survive without calling on the generosity of the people and our sponsors and we are forever indebted to Lough Rynn Castle and their Manager Ciaran Reidy for their continued sponsorship over the last few very successful years. He visited our stand, took an interest in our new pitch development in Boggaun, congratulated us on being involved in the GAA Healthy Clubs Project and he even bought a few tickets for our Club Lotto! What more could you ask for!

This is an open invitation to everyone who has or had an association with us from 1969 to the present day. More details to follow.

County Champions – Sunday was a memorable day for the club as we witnessed our ladies team become Intermediate County Champions. This game had just about everything and kept our supporters on the edge of their seats till the final whistle. The team showed tremendous heart and determination to come back from 5 points down to win by 2. They led 1.5 to no score early in the first half thanks to a superb Mairead McCauley goal coming straight from the throw-in. Some timely interceptions late in the second half by Emma Dunne, Aine Flood, Aideen McKiernan and player of the match McCauley epitomised the never say die attitude of the girls. Tanya McPartland was an engine in midfield that drove the team on time and time again along with some excellent shooting. Mairead Flood worked tirelessly to help out the defence. Stephanie Reynolds was a rock at full back and supported greatly by her sister Annette and Emma in the corners. Michelle Monaghan kept everyone on their toes as she demanded the goal area. Half back line Dara Morahan, Eimear Gibbons and Meave Daly put in some great tackles and were solid throughout, with Daly popping up for an important point. Ciara McTigue, Aine Flood and Roisin McGrenaghan made excellent runs from half forward and supported Ciara McPartland and Ailish Cornyn in the full forward line, who both linked up well. McPartland won some important frees and Cornyn finished a well-worked move to the back of the net, which proved vital. Subs McKiernan and Katy Foley also made a great impact off the bench. Well done to the whole panel who worked so hard all year; Sarah Loughlin, Ciara Reynolds, Aideen Kane, Aoife Gilmartin, Sadhbh Sweeney, Niamh McDonagh and Rachel McLoughlin. We wish Rachel a speedy recovery from a hand injury and hope to see her back on the pitch next year. Congratulations on the hard-fought win and to the management Paul Martin and Gareth Smith. Thanks also to Ann Flood, Sinead Dolan, Verona Fitzpatrick, Bernie Blessing Lynch, Jackie Gibbons and Fergal Wynne for their help and support. Thanks to the fantastic supporters who came out in great numbers.

Great to see North Leitrim representatives on the management team.
