Senior Championship – After a period of 21 years in the senior ranks our team lost their senior status on Sunday morning last when Dromahair proved the superior team in the senior relegation final in Drumshanbo.  The early exchanges pointed to a close encounter and Dromahair held a 0-5 to 0-4 half time lead. Two goals, including a penalty, in the last ten minutes proved to be the key scores that saw the North Leitrim men win on a final score line of 2-10 to 0-6 . Team was Daniel Farrell, Damian McGuinness, Jason Conroy, Brian Duffy, Sean McKeon, Conor McCauley (0-0-1) , Mervyn Howard (0-1), Anthony Mulligan (0-1), Gary McCloskey,  Cian Mallon, Philip Howard, Ronan Mulligan, Ollie Vaughan, Damian Moran (0-3), Brian Conroy, Subs used were Michael Duignan and Allan Croghan. The journey in the senior championship since 1997 has been a good one with many special memories including county final appearances in 2005 and 2008 and many players have been great loyal servants to the club during this time.  A special thanks to our manager Morgan Shanley and selectors Jonathan Duffy and Gary McCloskey for all their work with this team during the year. It is appreciated.

Connacht Gold Senior Championship – Our senior team were in action on Saturday against Glencar Manor in our quarterfinal replay, the match ended with Manor coming out on top by a score of 1:21 to 1:06. It was a tough end to this year’s senior championship with the lads giving it their all but failing to hit the levels of the previous week. There was a lot of disappointment at the end but the lads should take heart in their run so far this year where they have served up some great football.  It’s easy to forget that our lads  are young and that you’re playing  a team that’s made a habit of winning championships with a wealth of experience. Hopefully the lads can dust themselves down and put this defeat down to experience and come back stronger next season. Best wishes on a speedy recovery to Peter Reynolds who was injured in the match

Ladies Minor Championship Winners – A huge congratulations to our St Felim’s minor ladies who put on one of the best team performances of 2018 to halt Glencar/Manorhamilton’s three-in-a-row Championship bid on a scoreline of 4-13 to 3-6. It was a tough, close fought game throughout in which we trailed by a point at half-time but despite a brilliant start to a second half – we scored 1-3 to Manor’s solitary point within the first five minutes to lead by four – nine minutes later the opposition had put away 2-2 to no score and all of a sudden we were in arrears by four. However, over the final quarter of the game our girls we absolutely outstanding, driving home an unanswered 3-5 to lift the cup. It’s impossible to name names after such a wonderful display of football and massive credit goes to the whole panel, from number one to thirty-plus, for their efforts over the past couple of years. They are a credit to our clubs and get a chance to showcase their ability once again on the weekend of the 20th/21st October in the Connacht semi-final. Day, time, venue & opposition to be confirmed.
