Under 15 League  –  a very exciting semi final took place on Thursday eve between Naomh Bhrid  and Annaduff – this game starting at a blistering pace with Annaduff racing into a good lead with both sides playing some very good football, nothing was going right for St Bridgets in the first half, this was a very tight game and gradually St Bridgets got going and gradually chipped away at the score – the game finished on a scoreline of St Bridgets 1 11 Annaduff 3 4 – a well deserved 1 point win for St Bridgets – Aughnasheelin have big representation on this team – well done to all players and management and its onto the Final over the coming weeks and best of luck to all involved.

Dunnes Division 1  –  We play St Marys at home on Sunday next June 3rd at 12pm so please come out and support the lads.

Golf Classic  –  our very successful Golf Classic was held in splendid weather conditions at Ballinamore Golf Club on Saturday last – a big thank you to all who organised and ran the Classic, to all who played, and to our Sponsors.  To the Ladies who did the Catering well done and thank you.

Scoreathon – Well done to all players who participated in our Scoreathon fundraiser last Saturday in The Park. It was a great club day and we extend thanks to all who sponsored the players, coaches of all age groups, parents who contributed to the cake sale and helped serve tea/coffee on the day which was kindly sponsored by McGoldrick’s Centra and to Kenny Casey for his hard work organising the event.

Westlink Coaches U15 League – Our lads had a 5-15 to 1-11 win over Kiltubrid in the league semi final on Monday. We now play St. Brigid’s in the final with date/venue TBC.

Division 1 & 2 League – Our Seniors will play host to Ballinamore SOH in Boggaun this Saturday evening at 7pm.  With both teams sitting top of Division 1 this game has the potential to be a cracker.  Our Division 2 team make the short trip to Kinlough on Sunday morning to take on Melvin Gaels at 12 noon.  Please show your support to both teams this weekend and best of luck to all involved.

Division 3 League – Our Division 3 team were due to play Aughawillan at home last Sunday but unfortunately, Aughawillan conceded and we got the points.

Diarmuid McKiernan U12 Cross Border League – Our U12 boys play Annaduff at home this Friday evening at 7.30 in Round 1.  This competition involves teams from Longford and Leitrim and will provide our younger footballers in the U13 age bracket will valuable game time.

U15 Boys – Our U15s bowed out at the League semi-final stages with Mohill accounting for them on Friday evening last in Mohill.  Well done to this young team and their management on reaching the knock out stages of the competition.

Club Academy – Our Club Academy for U7s, U9s and U11’s continues on Friday nights.  Venue is weather dependent and will be notified to parents and posted on our Facebook page.  €2 each or €5 max per family.  New players are joining every week so feel free to bring your children along to join in the fun and games.

Leitrim Seniors – Hard luck to Gary Hickey, James Rooney and the Leitrim Senior team and management who were defeated by Roscommon in the Connacht Championship semi-final in a packed Páirc Seán on Saturday evening last.  Hopefully, they will get a good draw in the qualifiers and the same support turns out to get behind this young team.

First Holy Communion – Congrats to all the boys and girls who made their First Holy Communion in glorious weather conditions on Saturday last.

U8/U10 Girls – Coaching sessions in basic Gaelic football skills will be given in a safe and fun environment starting this Wednesday 30th May at 6pm in the Bee Park Manorhamilton.  All girls in this age group are welcome to come along.  Our three coaches are Grainne Rooney, Fidelma Loughlin and Dermot McMorrow and any questions can be directed to Dermot on 086 1768533.

2018 Westlink CoachesU15 League – Our U15 league campaign concluded on Friday evening last with a 2 point defeat away to Leitrim Gaels in the shield semi-final. Our lads put in a very spirited display and were unlucky not to get the win.

2018 Swan Bar ACL Div3 – Well done to our junior team on their win over St Caillins Fenagh on Sunday morning

Seniors – Best of luck to the senior team as they take on Drumkeerin in Drumkeerin this Saturday at 7pm. Well done on their recent victory over St. Mary’s. It was great to see the hard work paying off for the lads and the management team. They played with great heart and determination throughout the game. With the same work rate and attitude, we can look forward to more victories in the coming weeks. Keep up the good work.

Juniors – Well done to the Juniors who had a comprehensive victory over Ballinamore in division 4 on Sunday morning. Keep up the great work.

Leitrim – Hard luck to Leitrim who lost to Roscommon on Saturday in the Connaught semi final.

Race night – Please return all money from the race night to Pauric Loughlin before Sunday.

Speedy recovery – We wish John Flynn a speedy recovery from a recent injury. John is always a great help to the club when needed to record games. His selfless commitment and time is much appreciated and we hope he is back on his feet very soon.

Golf Classic – Big weekend next weekend as we are holding our Golf Classic in Ballinamore Golf club on Saturday next June 3rd. This promises to be a great occasion for all golfing enthusiasts and some wonderful prizes on offer. The prizes are as follows, 1st prize € 400 plus green fees for Slieve Russel Golf club.2nd prize € 300 plus green fees for Longford Golf Club. 3rd prize €200 plus green fees for Carrick on Shannon Golf club, 4th Prize Golf Polo shirts, 5th Prize box of Golf Balls and gloves, 6th prize Golf umbrellas. 7th prize Green fees for Carrick on Shannon Golf club. There will also be the nearest the pin and the longest drive competitions with four € 50 vouchers as prizes. Dunnes Bar Div 2 League – We had no game at the weekend as Melvin Gaels conceded points. Next up this week end its Annaduff and all players are asked to be present.

Connacht Championship – Leitrim bowed out of the Connacht championship at the semi-final stage on Saturday evening last at the hands of Roscommon on a score of 24pts to 10 pts. This is the third year in a row that Roscommon have overcome Leitrim as they now progress to try and retain their Connacht Championship title on Sunday June 17th.

Under 15 – Mohill under 15’s featuring 6 Cloone Players qualified for the under 15 County final by virtue of a great win last week over Glencar Manorhamilton on a scoreline of 5 10 to 05. They now play Allen Gaels in the final and Cloone GAA would urge all supporters to come and cheer the boys. Well done to the team and in particular to the six Cloone boys on the team.

Westlink Coaches U-15 Boys – The boys won an epic match against St. Marys in Carrick last Thursday evening on a scoreline of 5-15 to 2-16 in the 15 aside semi-final. This was a thrilling game between 2 well-matched sides and it was refreshing to see both teams exhibit high fielding, kick passing and great score getting. The game swung in favour of each side with St. Mary’s starting both halves strongly but ultimately the lads kicked on in the last 10 minutes with the game tied and we scored 1-08 to 0-01 in that period to ensure the win. We led at the break 3-05 to 0-11 with Radek finding the net twice including a well-taken penalty and Shane McKeon with another great finish. St. Marys scored 2-02 in the opening 6 minutes of the second half to turn the game again in their favour but we put in a great last quarter and once Ciaran McMorrow expertly found the net on 50minutes we never looked back.  Our scorers were: Ciaran McMorrow 1-08 (5f); Radek Oberwan 3-02; Shane McKeon 1-00; Conor Flood 0-03; Sean Lynch 0-01; Jamie McGrail 0-01. We now play Mohill in the final who have won all their games to date including a 1-12 to 0-10 win over our lads last week. The game is fixed for Friday 7:30pm in Pairc Sean so please turn out in good numbers to support the lads. Best of luck to Angus, Farrell and the squad.

Dunnes Bar Division 2 – We play Bornacoola in the next round of the league this Saturday evening at 7pm. The game will be played in Ballinaglera as our pitch has been seeded and will be unavailable for a couple of weeks. Best of luck to Sean, Paddy, Angus & the lads.

Swan Bar Division 3 – We travelled to Drumkeerin on Sunday to play the home side & came out the wrong side of the scoreline 0-13 to 0-10. The match did end in controversial circumstances as we scored a goal with the last play of the game but the referee blew the final whistle and the equaliser didn’t stand. We have no Div 3 game this weekend.

U-14 Girls – The girls contest the U-14 Shield final against Cloone this week. Full report next week. Good luck to all concerned.

Kellogg’s Cul Camps – Please note that the summer coaching camp takes place in Drumshanbo from July 9th – 13th. Booking should be made online on the Leitrim GAA website.

Lotto – There was no winner of the lotto jackpot last week the numbers drawn were 01-07-15-22. The prize winners of €20 each were: Betty Cannon, Drumshanbo; Bridie Flanagan, Carrick-on-Shannon; Irene Yates, Arigna; Marie Casserly, Mahanagh; Dot Murphy, Arigna. The jackpot now stands at €1,500.

This Week – On Sunday (June 3rd) the Second team take on Glencar/Manorhamilton at 12noon in League Division 2 again in Melvin Park. On Friday (June 1st) the Under 15s take on Fenagh also in Melvin Park. Come out and support all the lads in these games. Good luck to all.

La na gClubanna – On Saturday the Club is holding a fundraising “Funday” from 10am to 1pm. This will involve the usual underage training, games and other fun events for all.

The Club is asking everyone to come along and support this very important event.

Pitch Development Meeting – There will be a very important Community Development meeting at 8.30pm on Wednesday evening in the Community centre. Everyone is asked to make an effort to come along.

Development Project Big Bank Holiday Bingo – The will be a “Big Bank Holiday Community Bingo” in Kinlough Community Centre on Monday night June 4th at 9pm.  Prize payout will be €2450 (Last game prize €1000).  Books will still be only €10. Proceeds from this Bingo will go to the Community Project. Please support. The Club is asking all members to support this fundraiser.

Make Your Mark on the Park Development Fundraising – The work of the Community Development Project will be starting very soon. Melvin Gaels Club is assisting with the fundraising which has started. All Club members, ex club members, players and ex players are asked to help in the fundraising which will involve “Make Your Mark on Melvin Park” for €100 which will represent a square of Melvin Park, entry into a draw, prizes 5x €1000, your name on a commemorative plaque. The Swan Bar D3 League – Our Juniors were home to Eslin on sunday last. The Eslin men are top of D3 and they continued their winning ways in Annaduff finishing out full time score: Annaduff 1-10 Eslin 4-15.

Westlink Coaches U15s League – Our U15s were unfortunate to lose out for a spot in the League final when they lost by 1 point to St Brigids on Thursday last in Aughnasheelin. No doubt they are a great bunch of lads and will be ready in September to give the Championship a good run !!

Aughavas Kellogg’s Cul Camps will take place from Monday 16th July to Friday 20th July.
