Ballinamore Club Notes
AGM
Our AGM was held on Friday night in the Pairc with around 30 members in attendance. The meeting took the usual format with an excellent 73 page report containing a full review of the clubs activities over the year produced by our Rúnaí Niall Gormley. The report is an encyclopaedic review of the year and well worth a read for any members who were not able to attend. If any members would like a copy please reach out.
A review of last years minutes along with the secretaries address was followed by a review of our club finances provided by Cisteoir Raymond McHugh who gave a detailed report on last years activities.
Our Cathaoirleach Ruairi Sullivan then completed his chairman’s address and review of the season paying special attention and thanks to all those volunteers and players who had gone above and beyond over the season.

Scor finals
In 1984, a few years ago, (only 40), a group of members from the club decided to enter a novelty act in Scor mainly because it was the Centenary of the founding of the GAA. This group went on to win the All Ireland Scor title that year, the clubs first, with Michael Fanning, Tommy Moran, Madge Murphy, Raymond McHugh and mé féin. It was the start of memorable times in the novelty act section. On the 7th of December our Scor na nOg group of Niamh Brennan, Tom Dillon, Eabha McCaffrey, Nate Joubert, ,Seimi Barry Murphy, Bobby Sullivan, Connie Dolan, and Sofia Sullivan, will be keeping up with tradition by performing in the novelty act section for the club in Tubbercurry in the Connacht Final of Scor Na nOg. Grandparents and parents of some of this bunch, performed frequently down the years in novelty act and won 6 All Ireland titles in Scor Sinsear and 3 in Scor na nOg. We also have a set dance group in the Connacht final and we wish all these young performers the best of luck on 7th December.

Lotto Co-ordinator: A big thank you to Lotto Co-ordinator, Sharon McGourty, who has decided to step down from her role after several years in the position. The club Lotto has been a very important revenue stream for the club and we are very grateful to Sharon for her professionalism and dedication to the role. Míle buíochas, Sharon.
AGM: May we remind you that our AGM will take place on Saturday, December 14th at 6.00pm in the Allen Gaels Clubhouse. Forms for nomination of club officers and for motions must be with Club Secretary, Sinead Dolan, by Wednesday, December 4th.
Volunteers: The club is actively seeking new volunteers to help with various activities associated with the running of the club. Roles such as County Board delegate, Registration Officers, additional stewards and shop workers on match-days, additional help with social media, What’s App, club notes etc., are vital for the smooth running of the club. If you are willing to give a couple of hours to any of these positions, it would make a huge difference in easing the workload of our current volunteers. Please feel free to contact any of the club officers if you are in a position to help out.
Juvenile Awards: We look forward to seeing all our juvenile players, parents and grandparents at the underage awards evening on Sunday next, December 8th, in the Mayflower at 4.00pm. Awards will be presented to players of all competitive grades for Most Improved Player and for Player of the Year. Light refreshments will also be served.
Thank You: We extend a warm thank you to Sinéad, Pascal & the staff at Jinny’s Tea Rooms for providing a lovely breakfast to the U-16 & Minor Girls last Saturday morning to wrap up the year. A special word of thanks to the organisers John Casey, John Nolan, Angus Fee, Catherine McGowan & Colleen Blessing.
Church Gate Collection: The annual Allen Gaels church gate collection will take place at all masses this coming weekend. All support is gratefully appreciated.
Sympathy:
The club extends its sincere sympathy to the Gilroy family on the sad passing of John Joe. A tough-tackling corner-back, who played for Allen Gaels in the 1970’s, John Joe was a great inspiration and role model to his fellow team mates. Go raibh leaba I measc na naomh aige.
