Leitrim Community Facilities – The Leitrim Community Facilities National Lottery Scheme has completed another year and a draw will be held on after Mass on Sunday 23rd December in St Josephs Hall for all paid up members. There will 12 x €100 prizes, Committee members will call on those who pay cash or cheque for membership for the next 12 months. Any person who would like to join the scheme can contact Joseph Guckian or Willie Donnellan or any committee member. The cost is €10 per month. The scheme is run to raise funds to pay outstanding loans on Leitrim Gaels Community Field and St Joseph’s Centre. The total of the loan outstanding of approximately €95,000.

Lotto – The Leitrim Gaels Community Development Lotto Draw was held in the Leitrim Inn on the 4th December. The numbers drawn were 4.6.10,26. There was no jackpot winner. The €20 winners were Sean McGovern Drumshanbo, Holly Lupton Kilclare, Padraig Sweeney Drumshanbo, Bobby Lupton Kilclare. The next draw is the Christmas Draw which will be held in Donnellans on 18th December. The Jackpot is €7450. There will be four prizes of €50 plus spot prizes.

AGM – Many thanks to all that attended on Sunday 2nd December last, Thanks to outgoing Secretary Linda Gavigan for all her hard work over the last few years and best of luck in her new role as Club Treasure. We welcome Bernie Goldick to the position of Club Secretary. 2018 was another year of progression for the Club. Many thanks to all parents, friends, players, supporters at home and abroad for your contributions through 2018 and here’s is to an exciting 2019.

National Draw – The National draw tickets are on sale locally, they cost €10 each with fantastic prizes. This is one of our main Fundraising events and all proceeds goes towards the cost of running the club. We very much appreciate your Membership – Membership is now due and there will be a registration weekend coming up. All members paid up before 31st March 2019 will have full voting rights.

5k Run/Walk – 5K Run/Walk in aid of the IHCPT on St Stephens Day, race starts at 12 sharp. Registration is from 10.30am to 11.40am at St Joseph’s Hall, Leitrim Village. The organising committee are looking for stewards to do marshalling on the day and volunteers for registration and timekeeping. All are welcome to participate.

Annual Christmas Draw – The annual Aughawillan Christmas Draw will be held in the Viking Lounge on Saturday 5th January. There’s a total of 15 prizes to be won on the night, including a top prize of €5,000. Tickets are €20 or 3 for €50 & we ask that if possible to please support the draw. Club AGM – The 2018 Club AGM took place in the clubhouse on Saturday last 8th December. Thanks to everyone who attended.

BERNARD MURRAY WALK/RUN – Please keep the date free in your diary as we come together to support the Murray family and celebrate the memory of Bernard, a dear friend, colleague and loyal community man with the annual Bernard Murray 5K memorial walk/run on Thursday 27th December. Registration from 11am, starts at 12.30pm. All proceeds go to charity.

GALA DINNER – We are delighted to announce that tickets for the club’s Gala Dinner on Saturday 2nd February 2019 are now available.

This will be a night of celebration in The Landmark Hotel where we look forward to 2019 full of optimism and will include presentation of medals to our Intermediate ladies and U20 boys teams.

It will include a 4-course dinner and music by the ever-popular band Late Night Radio.

Tickets for the Gala Dinner evening are priced at €35 per person. The club welcomes the opportunity to sell individual tickets or a table of 10.

AGM – Fenagh St Caillins AGM will take place on Saturday 15th December at 5pm in Fenagh Visitors Centre. National Club Draw – its that time of year again when Club members will be calling to houses in the Parish with National Club Draw tickets. The tickets cost €10 and there are an array of prizes on offer courtesy of the GAA. This year Fenagh St Caillins Gaa Club will be holding a draw in conjunction with the National Club Draw and everyone who purchases a National Club Draw ticket from a member of Fenagh Gaa Club will also be in with a chance of winning €100.

Underage Medal Presentation –  Medal Presentation is on this Sunday 16th December, in  the Community Centre at 5:30pm. We have Monaghan’s 2018 All Star Rory Beggan coming to present the U-12, U-13 and U-15 winning teams with their medals. Tea / Coffee refreshments will be served afterwards, so please come along and join in with our celebrations on this night to remember

Underage Christmas Fundraiser – Gortletteragh’s Underage Section have a Christmas Hamper up for grabs, €2 for a line for anyone feeling lucky! Sheets of lines are circulating at the minute, thanks to all who have supported so far, and there’s still time left for anyone who hasn’t had the chance yet! We will make the draw in the Hall on the night after the Medal Presentation, good luck to all.

Club Draw 2019 – Our Annual Fundraising Draw is our main fundraising initiative every year and the 2019 draw will be one of our biggest in recent years.
A massive €5000 is up for grabs as a first prize, which would definitely be a great way to round off the Winter.

1918 Leitrim Senior Champions Commemoration  –  On Sunday December 30th we are holding an event  in the Community Centre to acknowledge the Aughnasheelin Team that won the Senior Football Championship. New Baby  –  Comhghairdeas to our Club Secretary  Lorraine and Kevin Keegan on the birth of their baby Girl and to proud Grandparents Bridie and Peter.

Recent Engagement – Congratulations to Ronan Gallagher and Stephanie Reynolds who got engaged lately. It is a perfect combination with Ronan our star player for many years and Stephanie a star in Drumshanbo. We wish them years of happiness together.

Big Draw – The big draw will take place on Saturday night next Dec 8 in Beirne’s Bar. Everyone is asked to put in a special effort as this is our only fundraiser for 2018. Tickets are a mere €20 with first prize €3000 and second is €1000 plus numerous others. It promises to be a good night out so come and support the club. Tickets will be sold on the night so you’re never too late to enter.

Scór na nÓg – Once again we had entries in most categories for Scór thanks to the Róisín Kennedy and her host of helpers too numerous to mention. Despite all that, we had only one qualifier for Connacht and we extend congratulations to Amelia Pajak who once again won the solo singing with her rendition of Mná na hEireann sung beautifully ás gaeilge. The other lovely solo singers were Maggie McKeon and Saoirse McWeeney.  Mohill had two sets of excellent figure dancers. Molly O Carolan, Nicole Ellis, Ruby Abbot, Ava Smith, Emma McGovern, Loren Scott. The other dancing group was, Layla Murphy, Hannah Gaffey, Kathlynn Ellis, Aobha Macklin, Alannah McGuinness, Ellie O Carolan, Abbey McCrann, Amelia Pajak. Recitation was represented by two funny ladies, Abbey McCrann and Orla McWeeney. The club had two Novelty Acts, and although not winning, they got a great reception from the audience. Novelty 1, Saoirse McWeeney, Hannah Gaffey, Thomas Mayock, Niamh McNabola. Novelty 2 Rian Walpole, Cillian Walpole, Shane Mayock, Michael Macklin, John Macklin, Ava McNabola, Orla McWeeney. Ballad Group was Amelia Pajek, Maggie McKeon, Saoirse Mc Weeney, Isabella Collins, Niamh McNabola and they were really good. Every child enjoyed the experience and once again we thank all the coaches and the parents.
