1st Round Connacht Gold Senior Championship  –  Our 1st game of the Senior Championship football against Glencar Manor at Pairc Seán on Saturday evening was a tough battle – we gifted Glencar an unfortunate  goal in the opening few minutes had them on their way.  We settled down with a good score from Barry McWeeney followed by a point from Brendan Mulvey – Glencar Manor pointed some lovely scores.  We had a great chance for a goal which was put over the bar – at half time it was Glencar Manor 1 10 to Achadh ná Síleann 6 points  – the 2nd half didn’t start good for us as again we gifted them a goal, Glencar Manor were going well and it was 15 minutes before we got a point on the score board and it was the last kick of the ball when we got our 8th point from Barry McWeeney.  We lost Paddy McManus to a second yellow card.  With injuries and some lads away it is going to be a hard Championship.  Team line out Gavin McWeeney, Paddy McManus, Cormac Sammon, Paul Earley, Christy McNulty, Sean McWeeney, Wayne Gilgunn, Barry McWeeney, Kevin McWeeney, Brendan Mulvey, Fintan Fitzpatrick, Cathal Egan, Ben McGirl, Aaron Hoare, Ciaran Cullen – Subs Damian Gilheaney for Ben McGirl, Dean Flanagan for Brendan Mulvey  –  Scorers  Fintan Fitzpatrick  3 points,  Barry McWeeney 2 points, Ciaran Cullen 2 points, Brendan Mulvey 1 point.
