National Club Draw – The National Club Draw tickets are now on sale. This Draw is an opportunity for our club to raise much-needed funds. 25 Card Drive – Allen Gaels 25 Card Game continues every  Sunday evening in Aras Phadraig at 8:30pm. Refreshments served. All welcome.

Lotto – There was no winner of the lotto jackpot & the numbers drawn were 16-20-25-28. Sympathy –The club extends deepest condolences to the Dooley Family, on the very sad passing of David Dooley, Dristernan, last week.

AGM – We held our AGM on Saturday 2nd December which was well attended by footballers and members. There were comprehensive reports given by Anthony, Éilis and a detailed treasurer’s report presented by Assumpta. St. Stephen’s Day Walk – We are organising the annual St. Stephen’s Day Walk in the woods in Glenfarne at 12noon. More details to follow next week.

Lotto – Our monthly lotto draw took place recently. Numbers drawn were 14, 20, 23 & 36. No winners of the jackpot. Consolation prizes went to Fr. John Quinn, Glenfarne & Laura McDermott, Cullentra. Thanks to all those who purchased tickets.

AGM – The AGM was held on Saturday with a good crowd in attendance. Darren gave a comprehensive review of the year both on and off the field. Colum’s treasurers report detailed all the clubs finances for the year. The club facilities development was outlined also and is now progressing following a long year of planning and preparation. All officers were returned for 2018 with Padraig Gallagher being elected the Health and Wellness officer. The position of PRO is currently vacant and will need to be filled early in the New Year.

U21 Final – The refixed U21 final will take place this Saturday at 2.30 in Pairs Sean. Time and venue is subject to change so check club facebook for details.

Santas vs Elves 2: St Stephens Day – The Santas & Elves will be filling up on turkey and trifle and going at it again on St Stephens Day in a Charity contest for the ages. Throw in at 2 pm and anyone interested in donning a beard or elf ears and togging out is welcome.

 Congratulations – A huge Congratulations to our own club legend Brian Foley, who was a contestant on Winning Streak at the weekend. Brian did us all proud with a spin of the wheel that seemed to keep on turning! It should be a great Christmas for those around Kilclare!

St. Stephen’s Day Charity Game – It’s getting close to that time of year again. Our annual Charity game will be going ahead on St. Stephen’s Day. Details will be confirmed within the next week.

SANTA – Santa is making a very special visit to The Clubhouse next Sunday, December 17th. The party starts at 5pm with Santa expected to arrive at approx. 5.30pm. He is looking forward to meeting all the boys and girls from the club once again this year so please spread the word.

THE OSKARS AT CARRICK CINEPLEX – Thanks to all who came out and supported the showing of our OsKaRs DVD at Carrick Cineplex last Saturday.  Thanks also to Liam and Rebeccah for their generosity to St. Mary’s during the fundraisers for the OsKaRs and again last Saturday.  It is very much appreciated by all at St. Mary’s.

BERNARD MURRAY 5K MEMORIAL RUN/WALK – The Club will hold a 5K memorial run/walk on Saturday 30th December at 12.30pm in memory of the late Bernard Murray. Registration from 11am at the clubhouse.  Please save the date in your diary and come out and make it a really special event for Bernard.  All proceeds raised will go to one of the many charities that Bernard was involved in.

SOCIAL NIGHT – We are having a get together in The Barrelstore on Friday 29th December at approx 9pm where we will hold the raffle from the OsKaRs Sponsorship Cards….1st prize: 2 Tickets for All Ireland Football Final 2018, 2nd Prize: 2 Tickets for All Ireland Hurling Final 2018 and 3rd Prize: 1 night break at Titanic Hotel, Belfast.  This promises to be a great night and a chance to catch up with friends and family home for Christmas.  It’s also a chance for all the actors and actresses to meet up again.

Leitrim u21 Championship Final – Last weekends game was a victim of the weather but it has been refixed for Saturday next 16th December in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada with a 2.30pm throw-in.

Indoor GAA/PE – training for boys continues in the Fenagh Handball Alley on Tuesdays. Boys born in 2011 or more recently (U6s) but in primary school can attend from 6:30 until 7:10.Those born in 2008, 2009 or 2010 (U9s) are there from 7:15 until 8:05.


National Club Draw 2018 – 
Members of the Fenagh St Caillins Club will be calling to houses in the Parish with tickets for the National Club Draw over the next week or so. All the proceeds of tickets sold by the Club are retained by the Club and will help with the day to day running of all Club facilities and activities during 2018. Match for Mark – Please keep St Stephen’s Day free as we will join up with our friends in St Mary’s GAA Club Sligo for our Match For Mark in the memory of the late Mark Rooney who represented both clubs.  The theme this year is Linking the Ages.  At 1pm St Mary’s vs Glencar/Manorhamilton (Selection of players from 2007-2017 roughly!!!!).  This will then be followed by a short exhibition game where the St Mary’s and Glencar Manor U8, U10 and U12 teams will display their skills for all to see.  The finale will see all the “Golden Oldies” dust down their puma kings and battle it out for 30 mins.  Refreshments will be available in the clubhouse, with all live horse racing and Premiership matches on the TV!!!  There will be a bucket collection on the day with all monies raised going to charity.  Current and former players are asked to contact Dominic Kelly if they are available on the day. Last year’s game was a fantastic occasion and we hope to see you all again this year.

Lotto – Our last Lotto draw took place in Heraghty’s.  Numbers drawn were 12, 13, 17, 23.  There was no winner of the jackpot.  Five consolation prizes went to Declan McCloskey (Yearly Ticket), Kevin McManus Donaghmore, Diarmuid Keaney, C/O Killasnett Creamery, Pat Dolan, Newtownmanor and Padraig Keegan.  Many thanks to everybody for their continued support.  The jackpot now stands at €2,800.

Ordination – It was a very special day for the Kelly family and our parish last Sunday as Padraig Kelly was ordained a Deacon in Clare’s Church.  We extend our best wishes to Padraig and his family.

Minor Girls Connacht Final – Despite a very spirited performance our girls lost the Connacht Final to Corofin on a scoreline of 4-13 to 2-10 in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence on Sunday last. This scoreline didn’t reflect the closeness of the contest, full match report in this week’s Leitrim Observer.  Suffice to say we are so proud of this talented group of players who represented our club and county on the provincial stage with distinction. Congrats to Muireann Devaney who was the deserving recipient of the Player of the Match Award.

Sympathy – Our club extends deepest sympathy to the Bredin family following the death of Mary Bredin, Tullyskerney, Manorhamilton.  May She Rest in Peace.

Club Academy – Every Friday night our Club Academy for girls and boys takes place in St Clare’s Secondary School Gymnasium unless otherwise notified. U7’s from 6-7pm, U9’s from 7-8pm and U11’s from 8-9pm.  New players are welcomed every week.

It is vitally important that we have a Secretary for our first meeting of the year in early January so it is up to every member to ensure this happens.  Shirley has done trojan work in this Role for the past few years, there is loads of help there for whoever steps up to the role.
